Self-Respecting People Never Tolerate These 9 Behaviors

Many of us have realised that we must drastically alter our lives during these times of great change. Self-respecting people will not tolerate complacency. In order to transform into our highest selves in these times, we must be brave, honest, and transparent. We must let go of anything that no longer serves our souls and honour our true selves. If you truly respect and love yourself, you will not tolerate any of the toxic behaviours listed below. Here are Self-Respecting People Never Tolerate These 9 Behaviors

Self-Respecting People Never Tolerate These 9 Behaviors

  1. Pleasing to Others

At the end of the day, you must do what makes you happy and trust your instincts. Forget trying to persuade others; they will almost always try to tear you down and give you 1,000 reasons why you should not follow your heart. You must rise above the opinions of others and do what feels right to you. Any self-respecting person values their own opinion over the opinions of others.

  1. A Negative Self-Concept

“Be aware of your self-talk; it’s a dialogue with the universe.” Lees, David James

If you want your reality to be more positive and vibrant, you must align your thoughts with how you want your world to be. If you have a negative self-image, the world will appear grey and depressing. If, on the other hand, you have a positive relationship with yourself, you will see endless opportunities and bliss everywhere you look. Positive thoughts, relationships, careers, and goals nourish and love self-respecting people.

  1. Continued Stagnation

“A comfort zone is a lovely place, but nothing grows there.” – Not known

When you look around, the world appears to be a pretty scary place, and many people decide to stay as long as possible in their safety net to avoid anything unpleasant. You cannot, however, grow if you do not try new things. Self-respecting people enjoy testing their limits to see how far they can go in order to continue to grow as individuals.

  1. Attempting to Fit In

You can’t grow and learn if all you care about is following the herd. To truly thrive in this world, you must carve your own path and learn to trust your instincts rather than the tired, worn-out opinions of others. Learn to be at ease in your own skin and to trust your intuition, and a whole new world will open up for you.

  1. Having a Soul-Sucking Job

Unfortunately, most people work at jobs they despise just to make ends meet. You don’t have to become a statistic; you can leave that draining job and look for something else that will truly fulfil your soul. Self-respecting people dig deep to discover what their soul truly desires, and then follow that calling wholeheartedly. Of course, there are times when you just have to put up with it until you find something better, but our point is that anyone who loves and respects themselves will eventually leave a job that does not support their mental and emotional well-being.

  1. Ignoring Your Health

Feeling good begins and ends with you; no one else can manage your health on your behalf. If you’re not feeling well mentally, physically, or emotionally, look at your life and see where you can make some changes.

Change does not occur overnight, but rather gradually through actionable steps. Any self-respecting person prioritises their health because they understand that without it, they will be unable to enjoy life to the fullest and bring their best selves to the table.

  1. Relationships that are excessively controlling

If you have friends or a partner who try to control every aspect of your life, this should set off alarm bells in your head. You should never allow someone to manipulate and control your relationship. “Toxic relationships can exist in any type of relationship, and they are bad for your health,” according to an article on toxic relationships.

You are deserving of friendships and relationships that will improve your well-being while also challenging you to grow and learn. Simply put, if someone in your life drags you down more than they lift you up, you should let them go. Self-respecting people do not give anyone else control over their lives. Even experts agree that being a doormat can be detrimental to one’s mental health.

  1. Laziness

In this day and age, many of us have let our smartphones, tablets, and computers entertain us for the majority of the time. We’ve lost motivation because it appears to be easier to sit in front of a screen than to go out in the real world to accomplish things. Any self-respecting person, on the other hand, will not become complacent; they will continue to work hard toward their goals and understand how to use self-control and discipline to their advantage.

  1. Ignoring Happiness

Too many people in today’s world settle for less than they deserve, either because they don’t value themselves highly enough or because they are too comfortable in their current situation to make changes. However, any self-respecting person will always choose what makes them the happiest, no matter what it takes to get there. They don’t put any restrictions on their lives because they know that, contrary to popular belief, magic does exist in this world.

You won’t have much of a soul left at the end of your life if you don’t do what makes you happy. To rise above and set your soul on fire, you must discard anything that does not enrich your life and replace it with things that do. This applies to people, jobs, relationships, where you live, diet, workout routines, and everything else. We came here to thrive, not just survive, so keep that in mind the next time you’re unhappy.
