No Oven No Fry Oats Chips & Tomato Salsa Dip Recipe: Method and Ingredients

My favorite innovation. Oats chips made on gas along with tomato salsa. Kids really love it. To give it a healthy twist i am roasting it on tava. I know Sounds fancy but actually it is very desi, healthy and yummmmmmy.

No Oven No Fry Oats Chips & Tomato Salsa Dip Recipe: Method and Ingredients

Ingredients :

  • 1 cup Instant/rolled/flavoured oats (grind & make powder)
  • Salt as per taste
  • Pinch of turmeric powder (haldi)
  • 1/2 tsp ajwain
  • Few drops of oil
  • 2 big sized finely chopped tomatoes
  • 2 finely chopped green chillies
  • 1 small finely chopped onion
  • Some finely chopped coriander leaves
  • 1/2 tsp tomato ketchup (optional)
  • 1 burnt tomato paste
  • 1/2 lime juice

Method :

  • Take a mixer jar, add instant/rolled/flavoured oats
  • Make a fine powder, transfer in a mixing bowl
  • Add salt as per taste, pinch of turmeric powder (haldi) and 1/2 tsp ajwain, mix it well and add water to kneed a soft dough
  • Further roll out few bigger size balls from dough
  • Sprinkle some oats/wheat flour on rolling board
  • Cover the sides of ball and roll it out into very thin circle (like chapati)
  • Now heat up the pan, place oats chapati on it
  • Cook it on low to medium flame for 5-7 mins then flip
  • Spread less than 1/2 tsp oil, again flip and press it using folded thick cloth
  • Press down each part of chapati to roast it evenly
  • Make sure to cook on low heat to avoid burning
  • Again spread less than 1/2 tsp oil, flip it and roast well until it turns golden-brown & crispy
  • Take it on a chopping board, cut it into pieces when it’s hot
  • (Make more chips following the same procedure)
  • To make Salsa Dip, take a mixing bowl, add 2 big sized finely chopped tomatoes
  • Add 2 finely chopped green chillies, 1 small finely chopped onion, some finely chopped coriander leaves, 1/2 tsp tomato ketchup (optional) and burnt tomato paste (roast 1 tomato over the stove flame to burn its skin and then grind it in mixie)
  • Now Add 1/2 lime juice and salt as per taste. Mix it well
  • And then your Healthy & Crispy Oats Chips with Scrumptious Salsa Dip is ready!!!
