ALOE VERA:

Aloe Vera is well-known for its ability to heal burns, bug bites, and rashes. It also acts as an interior cleanser and immune system booster.

HOW TO GROW

Aloe grows well in a pot and requires just artificial or indirect sunlight to thrive. Plant Aloe in a succulent or cacti-specific potting mix that drains well. To avoid rot and wilting, allow to dry before watering. Squeeze gel immediately into burns after cutting leaves as needed.

ROSEMARY:

Rosemarinic acid, found in rosemary leaves, is an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, and antibacterial agent. Rosemary boosts immunity and has anti-cancer properties. HOW TO GROW

Rosemary is a compact shrub with woody stems and needle-like leaves. It grows best in full sunlight and requires good air circulation. Only water when completely dry. Although it is a slow grower, the leaves can be harvested as needed for cooking.

GARLIC:

It a well-known healing herb, contains more than 30 medicinal compounds. Garlic contains sulphur, which activates liver enzymes, allowing toxins to be flushed from the body. It can also protect against colds, lower triglycerides and cholesterol, and provide antioxidants.

HOW TO GROW

Garlic can be grown both indoors and outdoors. Plant the bulbs in a pot about 2 inches deep, with the tips up. Allow the soil to dry between waterings to avoid bulb rot. When the leaves turn yellow to brown, it’s time to harvest.

GINGER:

HEALING PROPERTIES: Ginger is another herb that is known to strengthen and cleanse the liver of toxins. It’s well known for calming the stomach, alleviating motion sickness, and boosting metabolism.

HOW TO GROW

Plant a live ginger root in a wide, shallow pot with eye buds pointing up after soaking it in warm water. Keep in a warm place with indirect light and avoid over-watering. Small rhizomes should be harvested a few months after shoots appear.

CHAMOMILE:

HEALING PROPERTIES: Chamomile has sedative properties and is used to relieve stomach upset and aid sleep. The tea can also be used to aid in the germination of seeds and as a natural insecticide.

HOW TO GROW

Chamomile seeds require light to germinate, so they should be sown directly into the pot. Place the pot in a bright, south-facing window and keep the soil moist but not soggy. In 60 to 90 days, the plants should be ready for harvest.
