5 SIMPLE HOME REMEDIES TO PREVENT DRY SKIN THIS WINTER

Winter has arrived, and so have skin problems. Nobody wants patchy dry skin in the winter, but most of us fail to avoid it. The main cause of dry skin is weather change, followed by other factors such as excessive use of toners, chemical soaps, room heaters and blowers, and so on. However, there is no need to worry because the season is just changing; simply following the simple home remedies listed below will keep dry skin at bay:

Face Mask with Cinnamon and Honey

Cinnamon extracts dirt and improves capillary circulation while honey moisturises your skin. 2 tablespoon honey + 12 teaspoon cinnamon powder are all you need. Combine them and apply with a soft brush to your face.

Allow this simple mask to sit for 15-20 minutes before removing it with a gentle massage. To see good results, repeat this process every 4-5 days.

Massage with Coconut Oil

Dry skin is caused by a lack of fatty acids in your skin. Coconut oil is the best way to replenish your skin’s lost fatty acids. 1 tablespoon virgin coconut oil and 5 minutes are all you need. Simply wash your face thoroughly and massage it with oil for 5 minutes before sleeping. Coconut oil will absorb into your skin, leaving it smooth and healthy.

Aloe Vera gel

Everyone has heard of Aloe Vera, but do you know what it can do for you? It has anti-inflammatory properties and helps to increase collagen and elastin levels. To extract gel from an Aloe leaf, all you need is a fresh one. At night, apply a scoop of gel to your face and leave it on overnight. Repeat every night for best results.

Glycerine

Glycerine may appear tacky, but the humectants and emollients found in glycerine help to moisturise your skin. You only need 1 teaspoon of glycerine. Apply to dry patches or the entire area, wait a few hours, and then wash it off. To avoid dry patches, repeat at least once a day.

Face Pack with Milk Powder

Milk is high in healthy fats and amino acids and works well as a moisturiser. 2 teaspoons milk powder + pinch turmeric powder + 1 teaspoon honey + water Mix them all together to make a smooth paste to apply to your dry skin. Allow it to dry naturally before rinsing. To treat dry skin patches, repeat this process at least twice a week.
